Working hard to educate in order to eradicate child abuse
An Angel Lost too Soon
Dedicated to Riley Ann Sawyers, also known as "Baby Grace"
March 11, 2005 - July 24, 2007
In October of 2007, a small body washed ashore in a plastic container, on a small uninhabited island in Galveston Bay, Texas. For weeks, this small 2-3 year old girl was unidentified. She was named “Baby Grace” by the investigators at the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office who worked so hard to identify her.
Finally, in November, it was revealed that Baby Grace was Riley Ann Sawyers from Mentor, Ohio. Her grandmother had seen the sketch which had been released and contacted authorities. Through DNA, the identity was made. Riley Ann’s mother, Kimberly Trenor and her husband, Royce Zeigler, were arrested and charged with her murder.
As of early 2008, both Kimberly Trenor and Royce Zeigler stand accused of capital murder and are being held in Galveston County Jail. The prosecution has not yet determined if they will seek the death penalty.
This website is dedicated to Riley’s memory, in hopes of raising awareness of child abuse issues. By raising awareness and educating people on the causes, the resources available for help, and how each individual can help in the fight against this terrible epidemic, we can hope to begin to turn the tide in the childrens' favor. Thank you for joining us.
